Potion Tier List

Potions are the burst button in Magic Loot Roblox. While permanent upgrades and rare loot define your long-term ceiling, brews let you punch above your weight for training sessions, boss attempts, and farming windows. Because Magic Loot is in Beta, exact potion numbers change without warning — this tier list ranks roles and consistency, not fabricated stat tables. Always check in-game values on the cauldron UI before you craft in bulk.

Pair this page with Potion Ingredients for farming routes and the early build guide for when potions beat rebirth investment.

Ranking criteria

We score potions on four axes that survive patch turbulence:

  1. Progression impact — Does the buff shorten time-to-next milestone measurably in a five-minute test?
  2. Ingredient efficiency — Rare reagents should not craft a potion that lasts shorter than the farm time to make it.
  3. Stacking clarity — Some brews overwrite others; S-tier picks play nicely with your usual buff bar.
  4. Maintenance cost — Can a free-to-play session keep one or two potions rolling, or does it require all-day grinding?

S Tier — core account drivers

Training speed potions (highest available tier)

Training magic is the spine of Magic Loot incremental progress. The best training potion you can craft consistently belongs in S tier because it multiplies everything else: upgrade purchases, passive trainers, and rebirth currency gain indirectly. If you only craft one potion type for a week, make it training until boss walls force a pivot.

Boss damage potions (for your current gate boss)

When a boss blocks magic scaling, a boss-focused brew turns failed attempts into clears. S tier here means the potion lasts long enough to cover multiple tries plus loot collection — not a single swing. Compare kill time with and without the buff; if you need exact percentages, read the tooltip.

A Tier — strong situational spikes

Luck or drop-rate potions

Luck brews jump to A tier during targeted rare drop farms documented on Rare Drops. They are weaker as default always-on choices because ingredients often cost more than the sell value of average rolls. Run them when the loot tier list marks a piece S tier for your build.

Hybrid trainer potions

Some Beta brews blend training and combat stats. They land in A tier when you split time evenly; they drop if you specialize hard into one activity.

Long-duration economy potions

If a potion doubles gold or shard gain, it is A tier during upgrade shopping sprees and B tier otherwise. Watch whether the bonus applies to boss loot or only trash mobs — tooltips clarify.

B Tier — mid-game bridges

Lower-tier versions of S potions

Early cauldron unlocks often give weak versions of endgame brews. Craft them when ingredients are abundant and you lack recipes for higher tiers. Replace immediately once higher recipes appear — do not sentimental-craft grey potions after outleveling them.

Short burst crit or haste potions

Good for speed-killing trash between boss attempts. Fall off when passive gear replaces manual burst.

C Tier — niche or luxury

Collection or event-only brews

Pretty icons with minimal uptime belong here unless a patch buffs them. Keep one for collection achievements if the game tracks them.

Overpriced luck variants

When ingredient cost exceeds twice the value of expected drops over the potion duration, downgrade to C regardless of hype.

D Tier — skip unless forced

Deprecated Beta recipes

Old brews left in the cauldron list after rebalance often show red text or lower tier icons. Do not mass-craft before reading patch notes on Updates.

Duplicate-role potions strictly worse than another recipe

If two potions modify the same stat, the strictly weaker recipe is D tier even if it is cheaper — cheaper waste is still waste.

Crafting rotation for typical sessions

Short session (15–30 minutes)

Pop training potion → grind highest safe zone → spend earnings on upgrades → save rare ingredients.

Boss push session

Farm ingredients listed on Potion Ingredients → craft boss damage → attempt gate boss with loot tier list target in mind → return to training if stuck.

Farm session

Stack luck potion with boss that drops your missing ingredient. Avoid crafting training potions during pure farm blocks unless training zone is the farm site.

Mistakes that waste ingredients

  • Crafting every unlocked recipe once “for completion” before securing S-tier uptime.
  • Using boss potions on trash mobs because the icon looks stronger.
  • Ignoring overwrite rules and accidentally replacing a longer training buff with a shorter hybrid buff.
  • Stockpiling ingredients for potions two tiers above your cauldron level — inventory caps hurt incremental gains.
  • Tier List hub — All rankings in one place.
  • Loot Tier List — What to farm while luck potions are active.
  • Early Build — When potions beat rebirth.
  • Codes — No active codes July 2026; Settings gear redemption when live.
  • Guides — Cauldron unlock walkthroughs.
  • Scripts — No verified scripts; account risk if you automate brewing externally.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from the Magic Loot loop.

What is the best potion in Magic Loot right now?

Usually the highest training speed brew you can sustain. If a boss gates you, boss damage temporarily overtakes training. Confirm on your cauldron tooltips—Beta retunes often.

Do potions stack with rebirth bonuses?

Most training and damage brews multiply on top of rebirth passives, but some luck effects may cap. Read each tooltip and test for five minutes after rebirthing.

Should I craft potions before or after rebirth?

Craft before if ingredients do not reset and you immediately push the same content. Delay luck potions until you know post-rebirth drop tables still need the same items.

Where do potion ingredients come from?

Boss drops, zone pickups, and shop rotations. See Potion Ingredients for routes; this tier list only ranks finished brews.
